Mail box name:
You can choose any box name you wish, e.g.
- brickCottage@GreenBottom.org
- Brick.Cottage@GreenBottom.org
- Jim@GreenBottom.org
- Jim.Smith@GreenBottom.org
- Mr.Smith@GreenBottom.org
The choice is yours. Lots of punctuation is allowed in an email address and you can use upper or lower case mixed as you like.
Spam. Will I get spam?
Very little. The server that hosts GreenBottom.org is very well guarded against spammers and very little gets through. It is a lot better than most ISPs.
How do I collect email?
Two ways are offered: Mailbox or Forwarding.
- Mailbox
- A mailbox can be set up for you. All of your mail will be put in here and you will be issued with a user name and pasword to put into ypur email program so that it can collect your email program.
This means you can collect your email from anywhere in the world where you can get internet access.
It also means your email address @ Green Bottom will not change if you change ISP.
- Forwarding
- I can forward your email to your normal email box at your ISP. Simpler for you to set up, but you wil have to collect from your ISP and if you change ISP you will need to remember to tell me!
