We are looking for someone to clean and supervise the letting of our cottage at Green Bottom: we have bought this cottage to retire to in due course but in the meanwhile it is being let as a holiday cottage - we need someone to look after it: check inventory between visits, and clean it etc. in our absence.
It will probably require 3-4 hours maximum between lets. Pay is negotiable.
There is also a garden (for which we need to find someone for occasional work) which the supervising person could have the use of - and the produce for themselves. All is negotiable!

4QD is a small electronics manufacturing company, currently based in Burwell, near Cambridge. It is a family business, run by myself and my wife. 4QD's www site shows all the products we offer.
We also own a cottage in Green Bottom so are considering the possibilities of relocating to the Forest of Dean: the feasibility of this depend upon us finding the right sort of people to work with us.
Most of our work is suitable for home assembly and is currently done by homeworkers in Cambridgeshire. However we visit Green Bottom frequently so could easily work with suitable operators in the Mitcheldean / Littledean / Cinderford area.
The work we offer involves mechanical assembly, wiring, circuit board populating and soldering. As we are not currently resident in the Forest of Dean area, training could be difficult but if you have any relevant experience we may be able to work with you so please contact me - Contact button at top.
We could deliver kits for assembly every month and keeping in touch, giving instructions, diagrams etc is easy via email - or via one of our www sites.
Pay rates are of course negotiable as you will be self employed and will be paid piecework. We are not looking for cheap labour, but for experienced and reliable personnel!
There is an opportunity for the right design engineer to work with us.
Motor controllers involve software and hardware design: it is a specialised area. We are not big enough to afford a dedicated design engineer's salary but there is an opportunity for the right person is to get very involved with the company, to help it grow, to learn a lot and eventually join the company at top level.
Initially we would pay such a person a royalty based on unit sales - so it would be to their advantage to get thoroughly involved with our business and to improve the products as they learn about them and the market requirements.
In common with all small businesses, we have evolved in directions enabled by our abilities: there are several adjacent areas where, should you have relevant skills, we could gainfully expand.
